Khanya Hospice receives coins for a cause

This is the eighth 5-litre bottle of coins and cash that the Warner Beach-based pub and grill has donated.

KHANYA Hospice received another 5l bottle full of coins and notes from fundraising efforts by Buddies Pub and Grill in Warner Beach.

Khanya Hospice CEO, Neil McDonald, said it is the eighth 5l bottle of coins that the owner of the establishment, Alan Callister, and his wife have donated to the hospice over the last few years.

“The bottle was kept in the pub on the counter. Patrons, family and friends donated to this worthy cause and the wonderful work that the hospice’s nursing staff are doing in the area. A big thank you to all those who so kindly contributed and donated,” said Neil.

Khanya Hospice has three charity shops where people can donate new or second-hand clothes, bric-a-brac, furniture, cutlery, crockery and so forth.

These items are put up for sale to help sustain the free nursing care that hospice offers to people with life-threatening diseases, as well as support to their families.

Donations can be dropped off at their Amanzimtoti Hospice Shop at 400 Andrew Zondo Road, above Vikings Fish and Chips.
