Amanzimtoti Community Police Forum’s (ACPF) public relations officer, Estelle van Eeden, said the Amanzimtoti police station is implementing the spiritual crime prevention concept in the community as part of the SAPS turnaround vision.

“It’s a community-based approach with an aim to address the different crimes that are prevalent in communities using a spiritual wing of society, including all religions,” she said.

Van Eeden said the SAPS believes that faith-based organisations have a crucial role in education and behavioural change of unhealthy attitudes and habits which result in criminal or disruptive behaviours.
