Umgababa athletes compete in Pietermaritzburg

The athletes from Umgababa Athletic Club achieved satisfactory results in the championships.

SIMISO Khomo of the Umgababa Athletic Club (UAC) is a budding athlete who looks destined for greatness. This is according to the club’s chairperson, Swelihle Ndlovu, after Simiso (20) posted some good results at the recently held KwaZulu-Natal Athletics Senior and Masters Championships in Pietermaritzburg.

At the meet, Simiso came in second place in the 800m final and placed fourth in the 1 500m final.

“This is his first year at senior level, and he loves running with all of his heart. He is proving that hard work always bears good results,” said Ndlovu.

Nzuzo Khomo and Bandile Ncanana from the UAC also participated in the same event, with Nzuzo finishing fourth in the 3 000m steeplechase. “Congratulations to all the athletes, and may they continue working hard,” said Ndlovu.
