Pensioners’ Friend publishes its 50th issue

The couple says the issue is filled with interesting articles for all seniors.

PENSIONERS’ Friend, a free monthly booklet compiled and printed for seniors, established in 2018, has published its milestone 50th issue this month.

Former Amanzimtoti pensioners, Errol and Sharon-Ann Theron, started the monthly booklet and Facebook page, to help other pensioners find specific information about facilities and benefits available to them. Especially for those without easy access to the internet.

“We are proud to present the 50th issue of the KZN Pensioners’ Friend colour booklet for seniors. It’s filled with interesting articles for all seniors,” said Sharon-Ann.

Due to health reasons, the couple were forced to leave Amanzimtoti in 2021 after 13 years. They returned to their roots and family in Johannesburg, where they started a Gauteng version, which is now in its 19th issue.

Some of the topics included in the latest edition are: What all good people have in common; three things retirees need to learn before retiring; start taking better care of yourself, and some reasons why senior eating habits change.

The free printed copies are available at Galleria Mall’s information desk, Pick ‘n Pay Kingsburgh Centre, Pierau Pharmacy, Patches Haberdashery, Poinsettia Park Retirement Centre, Security Super Store at Seadoone Mall and Surfside Laundromat in Warner Beach.
