WATCH: The countdown has begun

This is your chance to put your favourite local business on the map. Voting goes live on March 31.

THIS year’s annual Reader’s Choice Awards is wearing a new jacket.

The Best of Bluff or Best of Toti for South Coast SUN, previously known as the Absolute Best, Reader’s Choice Awards, is not only under a new name and logo, it’s going to be bigger and better than the previous years.
For the past 17 years, readers have had the opportunity to vote for the best local business that offers not only quality service and products but also has the friendliest management and staff, and generally offers an awesome shopping experience.

Your vote can make a huge difference to local businesses. With a distribution footprint of just over 38 000 copies, the spotlight will shine bright on your favourite shopping experience. All you, our loyal readers, have to do is to find that business that stands out from the rest. It could be the best hair salon, butchery, pharmacy, high or primary school and even the best doggy parlour.

There are 50 categories to choose from. The Best of Bluff also incorporates areas such as Brighton Beach, Fynnland, Grosvenor, Montclair, Ocean View, Treasure Beach, Van Riebeeck Park, Wentworth, Woodhaven, Woodlands and Yellowwood Park. The categories are listed in our weekly voter’s form, but if you prefer the online version, type in www.southlandssun.co.za or www.southcoastsun.co.za on your device, and click on ‘Best of Bluff’ on the navigation bar.

The voter’s form will officially launch on March 28 for the Southlands SUN and March 31 for the South Coast SUN.

Your vote will immediately afford a local business an opportunity to shine at our annual awards evening on June 15, for Southlands SUN, and June 22, for the South Coast SUN. Winners will be announced online on June 13 and 15 for the respective papers. Venues will be announced closer to the time.

An added value to cast your vote is that you can stand a chance to win some awesome prizes. The first prize is a two-night stay, including breakfast for two, valued at R6 300, sponsored by The Blue Marlin Hotel in Scottburgh, and the second prize is a couple’s full-body massage valued at R3 000, sponsored by The View Hotel Boutique and Spa in Amanzimtoti.

You only have to remember to be specific when you cast your vote, such as Kingsburgh SPAR, and not just SPAR, and make sure the business is local, because, we all know Local is Lekker.

Don’t miss this opportunity to thank the business owners for the contribution they play in ensuring your shopping experience is worth mentioning and for adding to our local tourism industry.
