THE Amanzimtoti Community Police Forum (CPF) informs the community that there is no indication of current threats to Amanzimtoti amid the national shutdown today, March 20.
The Amanzimtoti CPF chairperson, Merlene Matthew, thanked the SAPS, Metro Police, security companies and patrollers from the neighbourhood watch and CPF sub-forums who patrolled all areas of Amanzimtoti throughout the night and who will continue to monitor the situation.
“All is in order, and there is no indication of current threats to Amanzimtoti, and there is therefore no cause for the general public to be concerned at this time,” said Matthew.

She urges members of the community to refrain from forwarding unverified information. “There is a significant amount of false reports and information from other areas being shared that creates confusion and panic,” said Matthew.
To get verified information for Amanzimtoti, join your local CPF sub-forums or neighbourhood watch alert groups rather than getting information from unofficial groups.
“If you would like to become part of the established safety and crime prevention network, please contact your local CPF sub-forum or neighbourhood watch and join their patrol team,” said Matthew.
