Amanzimtoti Women’s Institute awards members

The next meeting is on April 11, at the Amanzimtoti Golf Club at 09:00.

THE Amanzimtoti Women’s Institute held their annual general meeting (AGM) and prize giving for competitions held during the past year, on March 14.

At the AGM, the following members were elected/ re-elected: Belinda Thole as president, Petro Earle as treasurer, Alicia Kelner as secretary, Myrna Olyott, who is the past president and Rene Matthews as competition steward.

The trophy winners were as follows: adult education cup and Jessie Mereman cup for open; Belinda Thole, with Alicia Kelner as runner-up. Aggie cup, peacock cup for cookery, Cole cup for craft, Sheriwell cup for handicraft and most entries; Alicia Kelner, with Belinda Thole as runner-up. Moira Murry cup for floral; Belinda Thole, with Myrna Olyott as runner-up. Highest points; Alicia Kelner, hard luck trophy (runner-up); Belinda Thole, president’s cup; Grace Finch and friendship cup; Petro Earle.

The next meeting is on April 11, at the Amanzimtoti Golf Club at 09:00. The topic is still to be confirmed. Visitors are always welcome.
