Toti Central Community Police Sub Forum needs patrollers

The sub forum's chairperson, Dane de Klerk, said the goal is to have patrollers from every road within the area they cover.

THE Toti Central Community Police Sub Forum appeals to residents within the area to join its patrol team, in an ongoing effort to combat crime.

The sub forum currently has about 35 patrollers, but encourages more residents to join them as the eyes and ears of the community and for the police.

Those who join the patrol team should be willing to commit to two hours a week, and need not have a vehicle. Patrollers can buddy-up with each other.

The area they cover is from Isundu Drive to School Road, all the way down to Rock View Road and all the up to Wanda Cele Road, connecting on Seadoone Road.

The sub forum’s chairperson, Dane de Klerk, said the goal is to have patrollers from every road within the area they cover. “We all love this town; we all want to see it safer. We want to be able to walk down the road and not have to worry about our safety. We want our children to be able to play in the streets, just like we did when we were younger,” he said.

The sub forum is also hoping to get camera systems installed to closely monitor the area.

For more information, or to join, contact the sub forum’s secretary, Mandy Singleton on 076 025 4142.
