Kingsburgh Lions Club raise funds for a cause

The funds raised will assist the organisation with projects such as their annual Christmas Presents Project.

THE Kingsburgh Lions Club recently held their jumble/white elephant sale at St. Mary’s Church Hall in Warner Beach, to raise funds for their various community projects.

The money collected from the sale, as well as from other fundraising initiatives, assists the community service organisation with projects such as their annual Christmas Presents Project.

Lions president Tony Marron said, “Every year we make up about 500 Christmas goody bags and distribute them to various children’s charities within the community.”

They also help provide spectacles through their Lions BrightSight initiative, as well as help buy hearing aids for those in need. “We have quite a lot of disability equipment, such as wheelchairs, that require constant maintenance,” he said.

Marron said they had a great turnout on Saturday and would like to thank all their friends and supporters who donated goods and clothing for them to sell, as well as those who helped out on the day.

“We would also like to thank the community for attending the jumble sale and buying our clothes and bric-a-brac,” he said.

They are always looking for donations of clothing and any items that they can add to their white elephant table sale.

The next jumble sale is on Saturday, May 6, at the St. Mary’s Church Hall in Warner Beach, from 07:00 to 09:00.
