Prospecton Home Affairs PRO retires

The great team she worked with, as well as the rest of the staff at Home Affairs, made the long journey worthwhile.

PROSPECTON’S Department of Home Affairs public relations officer, Reshma Mohan, recently bade farewell to her colleagues and the clients she diligently served for almost 30 years.

Fondly called Mama Rosh by many of those she worked with, Reshma said she felt privileged serving in her department.

“I can proudly say my journey was a memorable one to have served the citizens of South Africa and international clients. This was sometimes a mammoth task, but with patience and good listening skills, I was able to calm frustrated clients. Even now, my phone never stops ringing,” she said.

She said the great team she worked with, as well as the rest of the staff at Home Affairs, made the journey worthwhile.

“I was a mother figure to many, and I will miss every one of my colleagues. God bless you all, and I wish you all the love,” she said.

While sad to see her go, her colleagues wished her well for the future. Mbongeni Cele said that Reshma was always there to offer advice.  “Farewell, Mommy, it was great to work with you. We were young when we came, and we grew through your assistance and guidance. I wish you all the best in your retirement. We will be always your family,” he said.

Surekha Naidoo said Reshma is a true legend. “Looking back on your years of true devotion, may you be proud of the work you have done and the difference you have made. You have been a dedicated leader, and in your footsteps, we shall follow. Wishing you all of the best on your retirement,” she said.
