Kingsway High’s unbeaten netball team head to finals

The first-team coach, Ruan Engelbrecht, says their netball players have been working really hard to achieve what they have over the last three years.

KINGSWAY High School’s first-team netball players have held onto their undefeated title by emerging victorious at the semi-finals of the Kingsway Netball Night Series on Friday, March 3.

The action-packed netball event saw the girls take on Hoërskool Suid Natal, winning the game 33-18. They have played four games so far, defeating Queensburgh Girls’ High School 41-0, Westville Girls’ High School 41-11 and Amanzimtoti High School 57-6.

The girls are now through to the gold finals, where they will face Durban Girls’ High School tomorrow, March 10 at 17:30.

The first-team coach, Ruan Engelbrecht said the league was created to form the perfect pre-season tournament so that teams can prepare their players for the league match that will be taking place in term two.

“This is also a perfect opportunity for our girls to get in shape for our tour to Hoërskool Waterkloof from March 30 to April 3, where we will be playing some of the best schools in the country,” he said.

He added that their netball players have been working really hard to achieve what they have over the last three years. “Going into the school’s 70th year, we hope to achieve some of our best results yet,” said Engelbrecht.
