Opening times for Winkles licensing centre on weekends

For motor vehicle licence transactions, the licensing centre in Sizakala will be open on the same dates, from 07:00 to 12:30.

THE KwaZulu-Natal Department of Transport (KZNDT) has issued a public notice regarding the opening dates and times of the Winklespruit Driver’s Licence Testing Centre and the Motor Licensing Centre on Saturdays in February.

KZNDT spokesperson Kwanele Ncalane said the driver’s licence testing centre will be open from 07:00 to 13:00 on the 11th, 18th, and 25th for driver’s licensing-related services, including bookings for learner’s and driver’s tests, as well as testing, renewal of driver’s licences, applications for and renewals of public driving permits, and collection of driver’s licence cards. For motor vehicle licence transactions, the licensing centre in Sizakala will be open on the same dates, from 07:00 to 12:30.

Documents that are required for the processing of applications are: An identity document or smart card and a copy thereof, a driver’s licence, two ID-sized black-and-white or colour photographs, R250 for the issue of the driver’s licence (or R90 for a temporary driver’s licence) and one additional ID-sized photograph.

The following should be noted regarding proof of residence:

• It must not be older than three months
• It must clearly state the physical address
• If residing with parents, a letter by the parent must accompany the proof of residence
• If leasing the property, the lease agreement must be attached
• An eye-test certificate from an optometrist is preferred and must not be older than three months.
