WATCH : Ringball event in Toti a success

The Ringball Event was a huge success with 11 teams playing.

THE Kwazulu-Natal Ringball Schools Development open day was held on February 4 at Hutchison Park in Amanzimtoti.

A total of 11 teams, made of either children or adults, from different districts in the province, participated in the games, with the first matches kicking off at 08:30.

In her opening remarks, KwaZulu-Natal Schools Ringball chairperson Amanda Gouws said the aim is to develop the sport in schools and communities. The day was a success, and Amanda thanked all the teams that participated.

The senior teams that played were the Jaguars, Gingindlovu Zebras, Veld en Vlei Club, eThekwini Club, and South Coast Club. The Jaguars and Zebras played in the final, with the Zebras winning after a five-minute play-off.

Ringball is a traditional, South African, non-contact, fast-playing sport that can be played by both male and female teams of all ages. Some of its elements are similar to netball and korfball.
