On January 22, the ACC first team played against Ilembe at Stanger. ACC won the toss and elected to bowl first, not knowing what the hot, dry conditions would do to the playing surface. Director and first-team coach, Frank Ferreira, said, “Ilembe was put under pressure from the start with Rob Ackermann and Morgan Potgieter bowling very well with the new ball. They were well backed up by the spinners with Jarryd Michaux returning the best figures for the day of 4/25. Ilembe was bowled out for 115.”

Amanzimtoti Cricket Club’s first team batsman, Jarryd Michaux, during a previous game.

ACC chased the runs down in 33 overs securing a bonus point for their efforts. Michaux backed up his bowling with 25 runs while Gareth Lone and Dillon Bryan both finished unbeaten on 16 to take the team over the line.

Ferreira said the team backed up last week’s win with another clinical performance in difficult conditions and away from home. “I am very proud of the way the team is pulling together as a unit to grind out good results. We are hoping to keep the momentum going for this weekend’s home game,” he said.
