Brijmohan (46) was shot and killed by unknown men at his construction site at 55 Cato Crescent in Amanzimtoti on October 21. A surveillance video of the incident that was shared on social media showed two men walking up to Brijmohan as he supervised work and shooting him.

The police have not revealed when the suspects were arrested or how they were caught.

His murder was widely condemned, with those close to him calling for law enforcement agencies to catch his killers. A Facebook page called Justice For Sunil Brijmohan was opened after the murder, and in it, Raymond Sakloo made a call for different communities to come together to fight against hit squads and organised crime that is directed against innocent civilians.

“Our team will not let Sunil Brijmohan’s death become a statistic. We will demand justice until the perpetrators will be apprehended by the South African Police Services,” he said.
