Toti native crowned Mr India South Africa 2022

Joshua Maistry, who won the Mr India South Africa title, attributes his success to his hard work and ability to think positive thoughts and be kind to others.

JOSHUA Maistry has made Amanzimtoti proud by beating all competition to be crowned Mr India South Africa 2022 at a prestigious event held at Radisson Blu Hotel in Umhlanga on December 11. Joshua, 31, was among the 11 finalists from all over the country who were vying for the top honour.

“I am thankful and blessed to have won this awesome title. I am a firm believer that my life depends on the quality of my thoughts, therefore I strive to be positive daily. I also believe that a smile and a greeting can make a big difference in this world,” he said.

The organisers of the competition said it is not a beauty pageant but a way of developing bright young men into businessmen and leaders who aim to have a positive impact on society.

Joshua is a restaurant manager and sees himself owning a chain of businesses of his own in the hospitality industry. His mother, Susilia Carrick, congratulated him, attributing the win to his determination.

“The passion for your work, and your love and commitment to your family, have been well rewarded by you winning this prestigious title. It is an awesome milestone, and we are so proud of you and pray for God’s blessing upon your life,” said Susilia.
