Pipe relocation to cause possible water outages

The outage is a result of road construction on the N3 which requires that the main pipe be moved.

RESIDENTS and businesses in Umbumbulu and Adam’s Mission are informed of water-supply restrictions that will last two days.

According to a statement released by eThekwini Municipality, the restrictions are due to the second phase of a pipeline relocation by the South African National Roads Agency Limited (Sanral).

“This is to complete the construction of the N3 highway in the vicinity of Lynfield Park. During this process, there will be some water supply to affected communities, however, consumers are urged to reduce consumption to prevent reservoirs from running dry as there will be reduced incoming flows into the system,” read the statement.

The pipeline relocation is from November 29 to 30. For more information regarding water supply, the public can call the toll-free number at 080 311 1111 or use the eThekwini Water and Sanitation WhatsApp number, 073 1483 477. Alternatively, email: Eservices@durban.gov.za.
