Support Ons Winkel to make a difference

The charity shop contributes to a number of projects to help those in need.

THE Ons Winkel charity shop in Doonside invites the public to come and browse through the wide variety of affordable goods on sale, as well as to donate what they no longer use at their homes.

Karen Duyvestyn, who is the shop’s owner, said the money made from the sale of these goods is used for Helping Hand’s Study Fund, as well as other initiatives in the community.

“Projects that we are involved with include buying stationery for learners, sanitary packs for girls who need, and buying tekkies for children who are talented in sports. Some of the money also goes into paying transport fare for learners,” said Karen.

Everything that is sold in the shop comes through donations, and the more donations are made and people buy, the more beneficiaries can receive assistance.

“Anything can be donated to Ons Winkel from clothing, furniture, antiques, kitchenware, bedding, curtains, toys, shoes, sports and technological equipment to anything else cluttering your home,” said Karen.

Ons Winkel is Shop 2A at 27 Main Road, Doonside.
