UPDATE: Man shot dead at Seadoone Mall

A case is being investigated by the Provincial Taxi Violence Unit.

THE man that was shot and killed at Seadoone Mall on Wednesday, November 9, at about 17:00, has been identified as 57-year-old William Kunene.

According to Amanzimtoti police station communications officer Captain Charlene van der Spuy, “The deceased was identified on the scene by his son as William Kunene. The motive has been confirmed as taxi-related.”

She said he sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was declared dead on the scene.

“A case is being investigated by the Provincial Taxi Violence Unit,” said Van der Spuy.

The suspects are unknown at this stage. They fled the scene in a blue/grey Volkswagen Polo.

Investigations are ongoing.
