All-round wins for Amanzimtoti Cricket Club

The three men's teams, and one women's team were undefeated during the weekend's games.

AMANZIMTOTI Cricket Club’s (ACC) four teams were victorious against their opponents, with the men’s games at the Amanzimtoti Sports Centre and women’s at Kloof High School.

On October 29, ACC Vets played a T20 game against Chatsworth Sporting Topham. ACC won the toss and elected to bat first, scoring 196 runs in their allotted 20 overs. The runs were scored by Francois Strydom (35), Tertuis Gubbles (4), Bennie Benade (15), Frans Gerber (30), Derick Snyman (18) and Graham Heine (44).

ACC got CST out for 75 runs, winning the game by 121 runs. The wickets were taken by Graham Heine (3), Riaan Vosloo (3), Johan van Niekerk (2) and Hennie Nienaber (1). Only 9 wickets were taken as CST were one player short.

On October 30, ACC First Team played a 50-over game against KCCD on the Toti Oval. The toss was won by ACC who elected to bat first. ACC scored 197 runs in their allotted 50 overs. The runs were scored by Gareth Lonie (20), Corne Nel (44), Dillon Bryan (18), Ryan Loxton (27), Dylan Labuschagne (16) and Morgan Potgieter (23).

ACC got KCCD out for 167 runs, thus winning by 30 runs. The wickets were taken by Gareth Lonie (2), Dylan Labuschagne (1), Morgan Potgieter (1), Jordan Bryan (3) and JJ Fourie (1). There were two run-outs.

On the same day, ACC Second Team played against UKZN on Toti 2. ACC won the toss and elected to field first. UKZN only had seven players. ACC got them out for 158 runs. The wickets were taken by Brad Naidoo (1), Mason Storm (2), Reghardt Smit (2) and Jareth Praschma (1).

ACC scored 161, winning by 7 wickets. The runs were scored by Xavier Snyman (13), Dale Kinsey (74), Brad Naidoo (6) Mason Storm (46) not out, and Reghardt Smit (4) not out.

The ACC women’s team played against Umlazi at Kloof High School. ACC won the toss and elected to field first. ACC got Umlazi out for 107. The wickets were taken by Lezaan Gerber (4), Nirvasha Ramnath (3), Iqrah Khan (1) and Ashradi Manillal (1).

ACC scored 108 within 8 overs, thus winning the game by 9 wickets. The runs were scored by Nikita Sole (68) not out and Nirvasha Ramnath (27).
