The hospice’s CEO, Neil McDonald, said nursing manager Sister Sue van Rijsbergen received many enquiries about courses for carers, so she decided to have another one-day course.

“The course is aimed at giving more information, and helping families cope with seriously ill patients at home, palliative nursing care and end-of-life care,” said McDonald.

The course will be R300 per person and includes tea and a light lunch. A certificate will be handed over at the end of the day. It will be on a first-come, first-serve basis so you have to book and pay beforehand.

For more information, contact Sue van Rijsbergen at 072 787 1027. Alternatively, anyone wanting to donate or volunteer to help in one of their charity shops can contact hospice@khanyahospice.co.za.
