Ward 97 councillor updates on electricity outage

The electricity has been off in the Kingsburgh/Doonside area since yesterday afternoon.

WARD 97 councillor André Beetge updates the community on the electricity outage affecting the Kingsburgh/ Doonside area since yesterday afternoon.

Today, October 28, Beetge said, “Power was restored but went out again after half an hour. A mini substation blew up at Amandonia flats.”

He said reaction staff handed the job over to the depot. “We have alerted the depot manager to follow up this morning. We are awaiting feedback,” said Beetge.

On Thursday, October 27 at about 14:00, the electricity went off. Beetge said, “We are aware that there is a reoccurring problem after an earlier outage was addressed. The department was informed accordingly.”
