City on alert after weather warning

The eThekwini Municipality’s emergency teams are on standby to respond to any weather emergency.

The weather warnings for Tuesday, September 20.

THE eThekwini Municipality has said that there is currently no cause for concern after the South African Weather Service said the city can only expect light to moderate rain on September 20. Heavy rains are expected in the southern parts of the province.

The City’s spokesperson, Msawakhe Mayisela, said that should there be any development, updates will be provided.

“As we are approaching the summer season with more rain anticipated, emergency teams are on standby to respond to any emergency,” said Mayisela.

The South African Weather Service said that the weather for Tuesday in Durban is expected to be cloudy with widespread showers and thundershowers. Moderate to fresh southerly to south-westerly wind is to be expected.
