Ward 97 wastewater progress report

Ward 97 councillor André Beetge gives a progress report on various pump-station projects.

Iphahla B and C
Networks have processed an insurance claim, but a request has also been made to start with the repairs, pending the claim being paid out. Security has been deployed.

Umdoni Road
The pump station is fully functional, and the outfall outside Kingsway High School has stopped.

Riverside 2 and 3
The pumps are ready, and the networks were cleared of silt from Number 3, at the drift closer to the river on, Thursday. Number 2 is scheduled for cleaning on September 22, and the outfall should cease. Security is presently deployed to secure the infrastructure.

Isundu Drive
Awaiting delivery of a new electrical control panel.

Ellcock Road
Durban Electricity has obtained a permit from the Roads Department, and the new power supply cables are scheduled to be installed soon. This is also the cause of backup outfall along Almond Road.
