Amanzimtoti police station to host albinism awareness dialogue

The dialogue aims to educate on the harmful stereotypes and cultural beliefs regarding albinism.

THE Amanzimtoti police station will be hosting an Albinism Awareness Dialogue in their lecture room on September 21, at 10:00.

The Amanzimtoti police station Social Crime Prevention team and Amanzimtoti Community Police Forum (CPF) invites members of the albinism community, together with their families, to attend an empowerment dialogue.

The aim is to strengthen the support network of members of the albinism community. It is also an opportunity to educate people on harmful stereotypes and cultural beliefs.

“By addressing the myths regarding albinism, we hope to increase the quality of life of every individual and aim to eradicate ritualised violence and any danger to the lives of people with albinism,” said Amanzimtoti CPF public relations officer, Estelle van Eeden.
