Kingsburgh Lions Club host musical fundraiser

The fundraising initiative saw guests put their musical knowledge to the test, listen to live music, sing and dance.

A FUN-filled spring fundraising event was hosted by the Lions Club of Kingsburgh recently, for about 70 guests.

They had two quizzes with a range of thought-provoking questions, followed by snacks and a few songs sung by Kathleen Venner. Thereafter, there was dancing and a sing-a-long with DJ Sunshine, Tony Marron, who is also the club’s president.

Coordinator, Sonia Jarrett, said the Lions asked guests for feedback on the event, and those who filled in the questionnaire rated it a 92%. “It would appear that most of our guests enjoyed it and would like a similar event in future,” she said.

They managed to raise a fair amount on the day, however, their fundraising initiatives are ongoing, especially with Christmas looming.

“All proceeds from the day will go towards Christmas treats for children and the elderly. Last year we distributed about 700 sweetie packs and cooldrinks to needy children in our area, but needs increase every year. We also like to treat the elderly to snacks and entertainment over the festive season,” said Jarrett.
