Amanzimtoti SPCA hosts spring open day

Open days are held to showcase the work of the SPCA, raise much-needed funds and encourage adoptions.

ANIMALS, baked goods and items for sale were the order of the day at the Amanzimtoti SPCA’s spring open day on September 3.

The second open day of the year was a fun-filled family day with a good turn out of volunteers and visitors, including members of the Queensburgh Methodist Church, who came to support the SPCA by making and selling pancakes.

There was breakfast rolls, vegan burgers, baked good and coffee for sale, face painting as well as items on special in their charity and book shop. People were also able to pet the dogs as volunteers took them out for walks.

“We would like to firstly thank everyone who attended. As always the community rallied around us and supported us in every way. Guests got to visit and spend time with our animals up for adoption.

They were also thoroughly entertained by our yard cats as they enjoyed various baked goods. Much-needed funds were raised on the day and a few food donations were also brought in.
