Honour your pet this World Animal Remembrance Month

The Amanzimtoti SPCA has provided ways to honour pets that have passed, and animals who have died through tragedy or abuse.

THE Amanzimtoti SPCA is encouraging people to sponsor a kennel this World Animal Remembrance Month, to honour their animals who are no longer with them.

“Spend the day remembering animal family members you’ve lost as well as heroic animals and animals lost through tragedy or abuse. Many animals have also lost their lives in the name of science for our benefit.”

“You can also honour these animals by donating to the Toti SPCA. Monetary donations, donations for the shop, blanket and toy donations, as well as food donations are always welcome,” said Amanzimtoti SPCA’s Michelle Hannan.

She said a wonderful way to remember your pet is to help sponsor a kennel at the Toti SPCA. “For as little as R100 a month, you can help us maintain, keep clean and repair our kennels.

With the sponsorship, you get a plaque on a kennel that is 10cm x 15cm. With this you can dedicate your sponsorship in loving memory of a pet,” said Hannan.

To receive an 18A tax receipt for personal or company contributions given, email pro@spcatoti.co.za for the forms for kennel sponsorship. Another way to honour your pet is to adopt another one.

“They will never replace your past animal, but your heart will grow in other ways you could never imagine and will be at peace. On top of that you would be saving a life,” said Hannan.

Visit their Facebook page SPCA Amanzimtoti to see the animals up for adoption, and call them on 031 904 2424 for more information on how to adopt.

Alternatively, monetary donations can be made at the following banking details: Amanzimtoti SPCA, First National Bank, Galleria Branch, Bank Code: 220127, account number: 62807184552, reference: food/name.
