Kingsburgh Child and Family Welfare hosts first aid training

The aim of the programme was to provide educators with first aid training to help reduce risk in schools.

THE Kingsburgh Child and Family Welfare recently hosted a Level 1 and 2 first aid training course, facilitated by Sapphire Life Training.

The training entailed CPR and medical emergencies, as many accidents occur in schools ranging from minor scrapes and wounds to fractures and other health problems that require a swift initial medical response.

“The aim of the programme was to provide educators with first aid training to help reduce risk and empower them with the ability to assess and manage the situation in the event of a medical emergency,” said the welfare’s social worker, Sandra Govender.

The Level 1 and 2 training was offered by Antoinette Meyer of Sapphire Life Training. The first aid training is registered through the Department of Labour, and the certificate is valid for three years.
