Ward 90 councillor Shad Nowbuth said that the stormwater infrastructure that is being repaired is in the vicinity of the Orient/Citrus Drive juncture in Orient Hills.

“It is progressing well in advance of the scheduled completion date. They are currently filling in the huge crater-like hole,” said Nowbuth.

He added that all work is expected to be completed by the beginning of next week, which will include levelling of the site and grass planting to prevent erosion.

Contractors put up finishing touches to the drainage infrastructure.

Isipingo has become notorious for its poor drainage system which causes water to remain stagnant when it is the rainy season. This impacts on traffic and businesses.
