AFTER hearing the news of the hardship that the Amanzimtoti SPCA is going through after its bakkie was hijacked recently, Umlazi Toyota has decided to lend a helping hand.

Arnau Broodryk, the dealership’s sales executive, said they have organised a donation drive to collect food and other supplies for the animals kept by the SPCA.
“On August 24 and 25, we will be at Makro in Abour Crossing where we will have our display and a test and drive weekend. We will be running a fill-a-truck campaign to ask the community to help the SPCA by filling the truck with pet food,” said Broodryk. Makro provides the space where the truck will be parked free of charge.
Since the SPCA does not have a car to help run the centre, Broodryk said Umlazi Toyota has made available a car to fulfil those needs while a permanent mode of transport is being arranged.
The fill-a-truck event will run from 09:00 until Makro closes in the afternoon. For more information, Broodryk can be called on 066 490 0530.
