Strong support backs Amanzimtoti youth rugby players

It was a successful weekend of rugby with Amanzimtoti Rugby Club's youth teams winning five of the eight matches played.

WITH the help of a strong support system, Amanzimtoti Youth Rugby Club’s teams won five out of eight games played at Rovers Rugby Club, recently.

The club’s chairperson, Anton Labuschagne, said it was an incredible day for the eight teams, with another tournament done and dusted.

“The players were out there giving it their all, with our dedicated coaches supporting them every step of the way,” he said.

Labuschagne gave a shout-out to their biggest cheerleaders, the parents. “Your cheers and encouragement make all the difference. Thank you for being so awesome,” he said.

Labuschagne also gave a heartfelt thanks to the coaches and managers for their unwavering dedication and hard work with the players.

“You are the backbone of our club. And, to my wonderful committee members, your support means the world. Together, we stand strong as one rugby community,” he said.

The results for the weekend are as follows:

U12: Toti 10–15 Ballito
U13: Orange Toti 17–21 PMB
U13: Black Toti 0–26 Hillcrest
U14: Black Toti 37–0 Hillcrest
U14: Orange Toti 17–12 Ballito
U15: Toti 24–21 Crusaders
U16: Toti 49–0 Ballito
U18: Toti 24–5 Rovers.
