Braaf is a new superhero like Superman but dressed in khakis and is the brainchild of Boerboel Wear. He visited Emojis Pre-School, Kuswag Skool and Ons Winkel Amanzimtoti where he shared his message of anti-bullying, praying and kindness. Marlene Basson of Helpende Hand said the aim is to raise awareness and teach children from an early age that it is good to offer assistance to those who need help.

“You are good when you help, and you are good when you give. It’s the duty of all of us to cultivate an attitude of goodwill in our children,” said Marlene.

Helpende Hand has written stories about Braaf the Boerboel’s bravery, and they are in a series that parents can read to their children or that children themselves can read to each other. The series of 10 stories, at one per month, can be read on a smartphone at https://helpendehand.co.za/braaf-die-boerboel/
