Amanzimtoti Rugby Club loses to Villagers at home

Despite Toti's loss to the Hillcrest Villagers, the team remains focused and presses on with its training to face off against Kokstad this weekend.

DESPITE a valiant showing on home turf, Amanzimtoti Rugby Club’s first and second teams lost to Hillcrest Villagers on June 15.

The well-attended games saw the second team go down 28–13, and the first team 11–26 in front of the full-capacity home crowd. In a statement, the Amanzimtoti Rugby Club said both games were intense and well-fought. It thanked the home crowd for cheering the team on.

The Villagers also commended its fans who travelled with the team to Amanzimtoti and spent the day cheering the teams on.

“Your voices on the sidelines did not go unnoticed. As a club, we are very blessed to have such dedicated support. With two immensely tough games left, we can celebrate this win but, at the same time, focus on the next games to come. We move on forward,” it said in a statement.

The Amanzimtoti Rugby Club will next host Kokstad on June 22.
