Storm damage in ward 98 [Pictures]

Residents in Illovo Beach and Umgababa were severely affected by the recent storm and continue to mop up and repair their homes days later.

FROM Panorama Park to Umgababa, the tornado that ripped through the area on June 3 caused untold devastation and left many people homeless after their properties were destroyed.

Councillors from wards 97 and 98, Andrè Beetge and Arthur Mgobhozi respectively, accompanied by teams from eThekwini Municipality’s Department of Disaster Management, visited the victims on June 4.

Unlike in other areas in the province where the storm was also experienced, no serious injuries were reported in wards 97 and 98.
