THE late Ward 90 proportional representative councillor Lindiwe Mthembu’s funeral, which was held in Folweni on March 31, was attended by dignitaries who included the mayor, Mxolisi Kaunda, and the former mayor, Zandile Gumede.

Mthembu passed away after a short illness. She was described by all those who took to the podium as a hard worker who always put her community first. Kaunda said Mthembu was a good example of a dedicated public servant.
“Her untimely death is not only a loss for her family but to the residents of eThekwini Municipality as a whole,” said Kaunda.
