Kingsburgh Lions Club’s president Lion Tony Marron said the group of 20 Lions that participated in the Parkrun was also made up of Lions from Cowies Hill and other Durban south clubs. Runners and walkers met at the L’Escalier parking lot at 07:30 before joining other Parkrunners for a walk along the beach.

“The Lions were walking while wearing gold ribbons and raising awareness of Childhood Cancer Foundation South Africa (CHOC). Childhood cancer is one of the pillars of service for Lions throughout the world, and we are all delighted to be here today to raise awareness of CHOC and the wonderful work they do,” said Tony.

CHOC is a non-profit organisation that advocates for the health and well-being of children and teenagers diagnosed with cancer or life-threatening blood disorders and their families. Their passionate and dedicated staff and volunteers aim to save lives through early detection and comprehensive support programmes for families affected by cancer.
