Hijacked truck recovered in Isipingo

The driver of the truck and his crew were taken with the truck during the hijacking.

A TRUCK that was hijacked in Springfield on November 14 was recovered in Isipingo with its cargo stolen.

PT Alarms spokesperson Devan Govindasamy said the armed men who hijacked the truck were driving in a white VW Polo.

“The truck was fully loaded with appliances. The driver and his crew were taken with the truck to uMlazi, and the stock was offloaded. The tracking company was informed, and tracking teams were deployed in search of the vehicle,” he said.

The truck was found emptied and abandoned on Phila Ndwande Road in Isipingo. Govindasamy confirmed that the driver and his crew were unharmed.

“This was another excellent recovery by the dedicated responders,” said Govindasamy.
