Despite losing a title fight last year, Bradley ‘The Nightmare’ came back stronger and more motivated than before. He took on Zimbabwe’s Robert Simbowe in the lightweight division of the EFC 106 main card event, held at the EFC Performance Institute in Johannesburg last month.

His father and coach, Morné Swanepoel of Combat Coaching, said he followed the game plan effortlessly which led to his round-one guillotine-choke victory over his opponent. This now takes his professional standing to six wins, one loss.

“His training leading up to this was intense because we treat every fight as if it’s a title fight. One of the main aspects we focus on is what happens when the fight goes bad or what happens when things don’t go as planned. I always say a good fighter isn’t someone who can punch hard or submit their opponent; instead, it’s one who can adapt to a situation,” he said.

Despite his foot slipping and his opponent grabbing a hold of him, Bradley managed to turn the situation around and secure the win. He is looking forward to a shot at the title fight in the near future.

The gym’s other professional fighter, Tapiwa Katikati, goes head-to-head with Zambia’s Humphrey Mulenga in the lightweight bout at EFC 107 later today, September 7.
