Are you the best of the batch – entries still open for Great South African Bake-Off

The hunt is on to find South Africa’s best batch of amateur bakers.

ENTRIES are still open for Great South African Bake-Off which returns to BBC Lifestyle (DStv Channel 174) this year. If you think you can ‘rise’ to the challenge – do not delay – the deadline for entry is fast approaching on January 29.

The Love Productions format will once again be produced locally by award-winning production company Rapid Blue, and filming for the ten-part series will take place in Johannesburg.

Commenting on the series, Pierre Cloete, commercial director at BBC Studios in Africa said, “I’m so excited for the Great South African Bake-Off to return to BBC Lifestyle. This creative, competitive baking show is sure to provide tasty inspiration as amateur bakers pull out all the stops to impress the judges with their originality and skill, ultimately hoping to bake their way to the final. Each week, the bakers race against the clock to deliver show-stopping creations, and after ten weeks of whisking, kneading and piping, only one can be crowned the winner.

The Great South African Bake-Off is produced by Rapid Blue for BBC Lifestyle. The series is based on the British format by Love Productions which has been licensed to over 35 countries around the world, including Australia, France, Germany, Brazil and Denmark.
