Reaction officer gunned down in Isipingo

The security officer, believed to be in his 40s, was found slumped over in his vehicle,

LAST night, October 4, a reaction officer was gunned down while seated at a petrol station in Phila Ndwande Road in Isipingo, South of Durban.

Just before 22:00 on Tuesday evening, ALS responded to the scene. Paramedics found the security officer slumped over in his vehicle.

“The male, believed to be in his 40s, had sustained a fatal gunshot wound to the head, and there was nothing more paramedics could do for him. He was declared deceased at the scene,” said ALS Paramedics Medical Services spokesperson, Garrith Jamieson.

He said that at this stage, the events leading up to the shooting are unknown, however, SAPS were on scene and will be investigating further.
