Teen author nominated for award

The teen wrote the book after finding herself with a lot of time on her hands during lockdown.

A BOOK called Mind of a Twelve-Year-Old by a young author from Mashiwase, near Lovu Township, has been nominated for Best Teenage Author in The Book Behind Awards.

Lindokuhle Ngcamu (13) wrote the book during lockdown after her mother bought her a diary, in which she wrote down her thoughts and experiences as a then-12-year-old. The book has lessons for both young and old. It teaches adults to always listen to children, while also inspiring young people to be obedient and to love education.
