A lawsuit reveals that Master KG was not even in the studio when the hit song Jerusalema was created.

A RENOWNED South African musician Master KG has been served with a lawsuit for the copyright infringement of a successful song, Jerusalema.

The 2019 global hit single Jerusalema has been the subject of ongoing controversy since co-writer Nomcebo Zikode claimed that she had not received the royalties entitled to her for her contributions to the song. The song is credited to having been written by Zikode and played for the master recording by Charmza the DJ.

During covid-19, the song became the sound of the pandemic for millions across the world as workers, learners, and ordinary citizens were doing the dance to the popular song.

According to the letter of demand, which was issued by lawyers in August 2019, Charmza The DJ composed Jerusalema with Zikode writing the lyrics, and he performed it for the master recording. It also reveals that Master KG was not even in the studio when the song was created.
