Toti youngster selected for Finland motocross world championship

This year he got signed up with RedBull KTM.

AMANZIMTOTI’s Luke Grundy, 15, has been selected to represent SA in the FIM Junior Motocross worlds championship in Finland from August 26 to 28.

“He has been racing since 2014. This is his first year he got signed up with RedBull KTM. Luke is currently placed first in the 125 high school class nationally, now racing with the red plate,” said his mother, Moira Grundy.

He has been selected for the JMX 125cc category, with bike number 450. Going to Finland is not cheap, flights, accommodation, transportation, hiring of a bike and the pit, the family needs to raise about R120 000, but are about halfway there.

“This is a massive opportunity not to be missed and an even bigger honour, but, like with all opportunities, we have to humbly request assistance from all our family and friends, near and far, to help us get Luke to Finland. Any donation or sponsor towards his journey to worlds would be greatly appreciated,” she said.

As a return on investment, company donations made will secure the company logo printed on his SA race jersey and on his bike.

To help raise funds, they are busy raffling a sticker kit for an MX or enduro off-road bike sponsored by Bandit Grafix, valued at R2 200. There are only 100 tickets available, selling at R50 each.
