THE sardines made their annual return to the waters of Doonside and Warner Beach, once again on Sunday, as they made their way up the coast.

The sardine run is a migration of billions of sardines that happens every winter, and it sees the fish swim from Cape Agulhas, following cool waters, every July, to spawn.
In Doonside, the fishing community and spectators alike took part in the spectacle which has become a major tourist attraction over the years.
