Toti SPCA in need of help amid flooding

"Our offices and charity shops have been completely flooded, but all our animals are safe," said Toti SPCA volunteer, Stacey Wall.

THE Amanzimtoti SPCA will be closed from today, April 12, until further notice.

“We are beyond grateful to be able to report that all our animals are safe. Sadly last night, torrential rain flooded through our SPCA. Unfortunately our staff member who lives on the property wasn’t able to contact us as the networks were down.

Our offices and charity shops have been completely flooded. It’s going to take a serious clean up before we can open to the public again,” said Toti SPCA volunteer, Stacey Wall.

If you are able to help with the clean up, please let them know. But this will likely only be tomorrow or Thursday. For now, please stay safe at home.

“We are heartbroken by all the damage that has been caused, but at the end of the day, these are material things, and can be fixed and replaced. Our animals are okay, that’s the main thing,” said Stacey.

Thankfully their manager, Tracey Girling, and kennel supervisor, Kelly, managed to get to the SPCA today, and made sure all our animals are fed and warm.

In cases of animal related emergencies, you can contact their emergency number 072 122 7288.

For anyone wanting to help them financially to get back up and running, their banking details are: Toti SPCA, First National Bank, current account number: 62807184552, branch code: 220127, reference: Rebuild.
