Isipingo canal causing Prospecton businesses to flood

There are currently Sapref workers who are unable to leave the premises, with some stuck on the roof of the building.

THE over-flowing Isipingo canal has caused many workers to be trapped at their work premises in Prospecton.

The N2 opposite the old airport is flooded, with shipping containers floating about. Some of the larger premises that are flooding, with workers trapped or forced to seek higher ground on the roof include Sapref and Mondi.

“We require assistance from people with rubber ducks and who know how to handle them in bad conditions. We require assistance from people with lifesaving experience,” said ward 97 councilor, André Beetge.

Beetge and those he is working with are reachable on 0827188137 or 0836370736, but request that calls be kept short and to the point so as not to congest the lines.
