Khanya Hospice donates wheelchairs

The hospice believes you have to give, to be able to receive.

KHANYA Hospice often gets broken wheelchairs donated to them, but, unfortunately, they do not have the means to restore them.

Instead, the hospice donates them to Peter Fielding, also known as ‘Mr Wheelchair’, who restores old wheelchairs and then donates them to those in need, all in the name of recycling and charity.

“We have to have an open hand, you have to give to be able to receive,” said Khanya Hospice CEO, Neil McDonald.

Neither the hospice, nor Peter receive any government funding for what they are doing in the larger community in the upper South Coast of KZN.

To make a donation, contact Neil McDonald on 083 597 8985 or hospice@khanyahospice.co.za
