The company has sponsored the building and establishment of a science centre, and now a digital science centre,” said Strelitzia Secondary School principal, Mokesh Harichan.

The infrastructure costs about R2.5 million and will be equipped with the most modern technology for students to excel in mathematics, physics and sciences.

“An investment in knowledge pays the best interest,” said Golden Pond 67 managing director, Yolanda Niharoo.

The project leader of Ramtar Construction, Shakira Sattar, said the duration of the build will be about six months, it’ll fulfill all stakeholders goals and visions within its budget and will have the capacity to seat 45 learners.

The Umlazi district’s physical science subject advisor, Deli Myeza, said that the school is fortunate to have a sponsorship of this magnitude that future generations can benefit from.

She said the digital science centre will not only benefit students studying mathematics, sciences and physics, but the community as a whole, as using modern technology will allow learners to build new skills and knowledge that will allow them to question things, thereby expanding their minds, enriching their education and the community.
