Favourable results for Winklespruit bowlers

Social bowls take place every Wednesday and Friday afternoon, at 14:30 for 15:00.

IT was a busy week at Winklespruit Bowling Club last week with the men’s Clear Waters Spur nominated 2-4-2 played.

The overall winners were Steve Libetrau and Brian Hollis and the second session was won by Steven Evenwell and Shaun Sutherland, while the 100 board was won by Phil Whitton.

The John Dory mixed trips took place and a wonderful morning of competitive bowls was had. This competition was also very competitive and a number of teams were in the chase to win, but after some missed opportunities on the green the overall winners turned out to be Jimmy Rowland, Shirley de Wee and Shaun Sutherland. The second session prize winners were Dot Liebetrau, Les Gibbens and Freddy Hetterscheidt and the 100 board was won by Piet du Toti.

Thanks to club president, André Gelderblom for ensuring the green was set up and prepared by the greenkeeper, and for ensuring the after bowls braai fires were ready after the prize giving and to John Dory for its continued support.
